Ontime Logistics

Kent’s Ontime Logistics is set to benefit from major cost savings and increased workshop flexibility after introducing mobile workshop equipment at its Rochester headquarters.

With over 15 years of experience in delivering reliable transport solutions to container shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics companies and retail distributors, family-run Ontime Logistics saw the need to upgrade their workshop equipment to keep up with the demands of their business.

Totalkare has supplied Ontime Logistics with fully mobile equipment on a rental agreement which includes a brake tester, cable-free column lifts and an accompanying trailer beam.

MOBILE WORKSHOP EQUIPMENT

The mobile brake tester will ensure that the company can save time and money by testing their fleet in-house. The DVSA-approved mobile brake tester can accommodate up to 20,000kg per axle and a number of wheelbases up to 4,000mm. The brake tester comes with a tablet device which uses a virtual display to show all the readings of the test, and a touchscreen-based remote control, enabling brake tests to be conducted from the driver’s seat in a matter of minutes.

Favoured by workshops the length and breadth of the UK, Totalkare’s T8DC cable-free mobile column lift is a versatile lifting solution, with each column capable of lifting up to 7,500kg. Usable in configurations of 4, 6 or 8 columns, workshops across the UK can benefit from a solution that can lift light commercial vans, buses and coaches, waste & recycling vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, heavy haulage vehicles and more. The fifth-wheel trailer beam is used in conjunction with these mobile vehicle lifts to raise trailers for maintenance, allowing easy access underneath and around the trailer.

FINANCE OPTIONS

“We were impressed by the level of detail and knowledge shown by Totalkare and the quality of their products. The variety of finance options on offer enabled us to introduce Totalkare’s workshop equipment on a package that suited our operational and financial requirements” said Wayne Baber, Managing Director at Ontime Logistics.

John Ray, Area Sales Manager for Totalkare, commented “With a fleet of over 50 tractor units and trailers, it made complete sense for Ontime Logistics to begin testing in-house and reduce the costs of outsourcing. By introducing both mobile column lifts and a mobile brake tester, the vehicles can be tested within a matter of minutes and then lifted for maintenance and inspection.”
