MAHA UK and Chassis Cab have reignited their partnership to collaborate on a third workshop installation. Upon discovering that its existing workshop space was at maximum capacity, combined with the retirement of a popular member of staff that ran the bodyshop, the DAF specialist made decision to convert the space into a two-bay service lane and major unit repair workshop.

It is an investment that has already paid-off, according to Chassis Cab Service Director, Andy Ling, who holds a long-standing relationship with the workshop equipment supplier.

The pair first combined when MAHA UK was awarded the contract to provide Chassis Cab, a family-run business and DAF truck franchise holder, an ATF lane at its Great Blakenham (Ipswich) site. In 2020, the two came together once more to install another lane at its Fenstanton facility.

MAHA UK’s professional approach and premium equipment meant Chassis Cab didn’t have to think twice about employing the same services once more.

Andy said: “The additional space has given us so much more! We sell new and used trucks, DAF genuine parts, truck and trailer components, as well as offer repair and maintenance services. We get through so many routine inspections and the related maintenance work. The technicians were on-top of each other and doubling up on jobs, so creating more space was the logical step in our journey.

“As a result, we’ve now doubled the capacity of the workshop site – it’s made our business more efficient, pleased our customers, and given our staff more freedom.”

As well as maintenance and inspections, Chassis Cab also conducts MOT inspections. The lane caters for all its needs, with MAHA UK’s MBT 7250 EUROSYSTEM roller brake tester, LMS 20.0 axle play detector and MLT 3000 headlight tester installed and operational. An additional tachograph module is also set to be added imminently.

MAHA UK Managing Director, Neil Ebbs, added: “Having worked with Chassis Cab and Andy for a number of years – Bury St Edmunds is the third site we’ve collaborated on – it’s a partnership that proved beneficial to all parties.”

Neil also thanked Gavin Donnelly’s contribution of an immaculate paintjob, and Premier Pits, once again, providing outstanding support on installation.

He added: “Of course, our service team have come in as well and gone above and beyond to ensure the project has gone to plan, on time and on target. A job well done by everyone.”
