Field Service Engineer
We are a family-run company who cares about our staff and are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join our team. About the Role
This position is predominantly field-based (90%) with occasional workshop involvement (10%). You will travel to client sites across the UK and Ireland, with regular overnight stays required. After training, you will be able to work independently, visiting our customers’ premises to carry out a varied mix of installations, periodic planned maintenance, and breakdown calls.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of vehicle dismantling and recycling equipment
- Diagnosing and fault-finding on mechanically, hydraulically, pneumatically, and electrically driven systems
- Air operated and mechanical pump servicing and maintenance
- Predominantly working independently but at times as part of a team
- Supporting workshop assembly, production, testing, and repairs when required
This is a varied, hands-on role working on technically advanced equipment within a supportive and forward-thinking company.
About You – Essential Skills, Experience & Personal Qualities
Skills & Experience:
- Field Service Engineer background
- Experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter, Maintenance / Service Engineer
- Strong mechanical background with experience on pumping and hydraulically powered machinery
- Experience working on compressors and vehicle lifts beneficial
- Ability to install, service, repair, and diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Experience working with electrically powered machinery
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with stock management and job allocation
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide with overnight stays (required)
- Authorised to work in the UK (required)
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
- Forklift Licence (preferred)

Location
We are looking for candidates based within 30 miles of our main premises in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
The role will require frequent nationwide travel from our premises or home address.
This role is open only to candidates who are currently based is this geographical area, applications from other locations will not be considered.
Package & Job Type
Full-Time, Permanent – 4 Days (Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, 40 hours + overtime)
