Emissions Plate Tampering

DVSA Vehicle Standards Assessors have noticed a small number of heavy vehicles being presented for annual test with some form of tampering carried out to the exhaust emissions data recorded on the vehicle manufacturer’s plate.

This impacts government efforts to reduce emissions and could be an indicator of wider poor practice on an operator’s part.

Risks to you as an operator

If you’re one of the few who have tampered with your plate, you risk being reported to the Traffic Commissioner for public inquiry consideration.

So, we strongly advise that vehicles are checked at the next maintenance inspection to make sure the manufacturer\’s emissions data is present.

In our latest Moving On blog, we look at the issue of Emissions Plate tampering and what we’re doing about it.
