The DVSA recently released special notice 04/24, this special notice mainly covers updates to the testers manual, but does also include some updates to the MOT testing guide (setting up and running an MOT site MOT testing guide for test stations – Guidance – GOV.UK) points to highlight are:

  • An site manager does not now have to inform the DVSA when a calibration expires, (Section B)
  • Reinforcing that emission records must be available for 3 months either in hard copy or electronic (this does not include using MTS transferred data) it must be the printout data and must include date and time of test and vehicle registration (section H)
  • Update to clarify its the MOT testers responsibility to ensure that all equipment being used for the MOT meets DVSA requirements (section M)
