The Need for Regular Lift Cable Maintenance

How Often to Replace Car Lift Cables

While regular maintenance can extend the life of your car lift cables, they will eventually need to be replaced. BS 7980:2003+A1:2012 recommends replacing load suspension wire ropes every six years, regardless of their apparent condition. This is a crucial safety measure, as internal corrosion can be difficult to detect. However, you should also consider replacing the cables sooner if you notice any of the following:

Excessive Wear: If the cables are visibly worn, frayed, or damaged, they should be replaced immediately.
