Biffa undertakes waste services on behalf of Manchester City Council, serving an ever-increasing population in this major city region with essential waste collection, handling and management that keeps households and businesses running through a growing fleet of Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs).
Located within an expansive, listed industrial building, Biffa’s move to its new workshop has been undertaken over several phases in recent months, supported by CCS and our specialist team of garage equipment installation engineers in Manchester.
Biffa vacated its previous premises some months ago, relocating its workshop equipment and operations to a temporary facility while the large new, permanent site in Gorton was prepared to ensure residents and businesses experienced no interruption in the delivery of waste services.
CCS Garage Equipment assisted in Biffa’s workshop relocation, which included the temporary removal, movement and reinstallation of vehicle lifts and ancillary equipment in the temporary workshop. Now progressing the new facility, CCS Garage Equipment is professionally removing and reinstalling the client’s vehicle lifts, together with managing the full design and installation of new lubrication and compressed air systems, together with all related pipework.Â
Safety is at the heart of all CCS garage equipment installation projects, maintenance and testing services. Operators and engineers will be working at height in Biffa’s new facility in Manchester, and so our garage equipment specification for this project incorporates a sophisticated fall restraint system comprising safety harnessing and a rigid wire to ensure safe and compliant working conditions for Biffa’s team.

3. This commercial workshop garage equipment installation is a sizeable undertaking, particularly working within a listed former industrial building in East Manchester. The workshop for Biffa’s RCVs offers excellent operational space, and our client, its appointed contractors and CCS’ teams have planned the installation to deliver what Biffa needs to grow its work in the Manchester region.
