The Role

The role will involve travelling to workshops, predominantly in your geographical area, to carry out a dynamic mix of both preventative maintenance/calibrations and breakdowns repairs on various garage equipment including Vehicle Lifts, Compressors and MOT Equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Planned maintenance & repairs of a wide range of garage equipment.
  • Servicing & repairing equipment on a call out basis.
  • Completion and submission of necessary paperwork accurately & in a timely fashion.
  • Compliance to laws and regulations covering Health and Safety within the workplace.
  • Liaising with Service Controllers.
  • Ensuring van is effectively stocked.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5.30 (45 hours a week.)

Person Specification

  • Practical experience with both mechanical and electrical diagnosis fault finding and rectification
  • Has experience in specifically Servicing / Repairs of Garage Equipment is beneficial as is a present or past GEA accreditation.
  • Works well within a team of other engineers and Service Controllers.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills for dealing with colleagues and directly with customers
  • A can-do attitude and a desire to deliver high levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Full UK driving license is required.
  • Prepared for occasional overnight stays from home if required.

We are ideally looking for candidates around Edinburgh/Glasgow that can travel to workshops around the whole of Scotland.
